Happy Birthday

Today's letter comes from Paul Carter of Boulder, Colorado:

"I like this comic, but I think eventually you are going to run out of ideas.
Paul Carter, Boulder, Colorado"

Thanks for writing, Paul! We actually ran out of ideas already, at strip #16. To remedy this, we invested in the Joketron 5001, a robot that can "create" gags by reading in existing ones as input, combining and modifying them, and then spitting out something that is not quite original, but also isn't copyright infringement*.

We've been feeding it various comedic works ranging from old Simpsons episodes to the underappreciated Arrested Development to an even more recent and lesser known work, but still quality nonetheless, the play I Heart Beijing.

So, you can expect us to continue producing Frog and Penguin comics until either the Joketron 5001 breaks down, or people stop reading.

We hope people keep reading!

*According to the manufacturer: "Joketron, Inc. guarantees no jokes outputted by the Joketron 5001 will be found in violation of copyright unless that copyright is held by another entity owning a Joketron 5001 robot. In the event of copyright infringement lawsuit involving only one Joketron 5001, Joketron, Inc. agrees to provide legal counsel at a rate of the depreciation-adjusted value of the Joketron 5001 robot that created the infringing joke multiplied by 8.3 times the difference between the value of the damages of the lawsuit and $100,000."
